AI Answer Checker

About the AI Answer Checker

The AI Answer Checker is a tool on 4AB for checking written work. It has three modes, which you switch between at the top of this page: Homework Checker, Exam / Board paper and Marks checker. It is a first check that saves time, not the final word on a student's marks.

Homework Checker

For one student's homework. Upload photos or scans of the answer sheet, and add the question paper, answer key or marking scheme if you have them. Each question is marked separately, with the working, the mistake and what to fix, so you can see where marks were lost instead of getting one total.

Exam / Board paper

For a full paper. The question paper and the answer sheet are both required. An official answer key or marking scheme is optional, but adding one lets the report follow the real scheme instead of an estimate. The result is a report per question, per topic and as a summary.

Marks checker

For objective questions. This mode uses no AI and nothing is uploaded. It scores answers against the answer printed in the 4AB question bank, so you first need a paper generated there. You can score one attempt, a whole class from a CSV file, or cross-check a key against the printed answers.

What you need, and what it costs

The checking is AI-assisted. It can misread handwriting or judge an answer differently from a teacher. Its marks are suggestions and are not final until a teacher confirms them. It is not a replacement for official marking by a school or board.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AI Answer Checker?
It is a 4AB tool that marks written answers. You upload a photo or scan of an answer sheet and the checker reads it, marks each question separately and tells you what to fix. A separate Marks checker mode scores objective answers without any AI.
What can I upload?
PDF, JPG or PNG files: the answer sheet is required, and the question paper, answer key and marking scheme are optional in Homework mode. Exam / Board paper mode needs both the question paper and the answer sheet. The maximum file size and number of files are shown on the upload form. Clear, readable images give better results.
Is it free?
Checking an uploaded homework or exam paper is not free and needs a sign-in. The price is worked out from your pages and shown before you pay, and there is a box for a coupon code. The Marks checker uses no AI and costs nothing.
Can I rely on the marks?
Treat them as suggestions. The checker is AI-assisted, so it can misread handwriting or judge an answer differently from a teacher. The marks are not final until a teacher confirms them, and the tool is not a replacement for official marking by a school or board.
Does the Marks checker use AI?
No. It compares answers with the answer printed in the question bank, so the same input always gives the same score. It needs a paper generated in the question bank first. You can then score one attempt, a whole class from a CSV file, or cross-check a key against the printed answers.
