South Eastern Coalfields Limited is a Miniratna subsidiary of Coal India Limited headquartered at Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, operating coalfields in the Korba, Sohagpur and Chirimiri belts. It recruits Management Trainees in mining and allied engineering disciplines mainly through Coal India's common trainee process, and fills non-executive posts such as Mining Sirdar, Overman, Surveyor and Office Operations Executive through its own periodic written examinations, along with apprentices engaged under the NATS/NAPS scheme.
