The Pondicherry Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (PIHMCT), an institute sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and the Government of Puducherry, has invited applications for 3 posts of Assistant Lecturer on a contractual basis, carrying a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 35,000. The upper age limit is 35 years for General category candidates as on 01.07.2026, with age relaxation for other categories as per government norms. There are two eligibility categories: Category A requires a postgraduate degree in Hospitality/Tourism or an MBA, together with a full-time degree or three-year diploma in Hotel Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Hospitality Administration or Culinary Arts/Science with at least 55% aggregate marks (a PhD in a Hospitality-related subject is desirable and exempts a candidate from the NHTET requirement below); Category B requires a full-time Bachelor's degree in Hospitality/Hotel Administration/Hotel Management/Culinary Art with at least 55% aggregate marks and a minimum of 2 years' hospitality-industry experience. For both categories the candidate must have qualified the National Hotel and Tourism Entrance/Eligibility Test (NHTET) conducted by NCHMCT with the prescribed percentage, and selection is through a skill test prescribed by NCHMCT with NHTET marks given weightage. Teaching experience on a full-time contract basis at UG level and above in Hospitality counts as valid experience. Candidates already employed in Government, Semi-Government, PSU or Autonomous bodies must route their application through proper channel.
