Online only through www.nios.ac.in or recruitment.nios.ac.in. No offline applications accepted. After submitting online, take a printout and send it by Speed Post or by hand to the Deputy Director (Admn.), NIOS, A-24-25, Institutional Area, Sector-62, NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh-201309, within seven days of submission, along with uploaded documents.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, has invited online applications for engagement of one post of Consultant (IT) on a purely contractual basis for six months, extendable by mutual consent based on requirement and performance. The essential qualification is B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or IT, or MCA/M.Tech from a recognised university, with a minimum of 8-10 years of post-qualification experience managing large-scale IT projects, database management and software development, preferably within Government, PSU or Autonomous Body settings. The upper age limit is below 65 years. The consolidated monthly emolument for the position is Rs. 51,000. The engagement carries no claim to regularisation or absorption into NIOS's regular cadre, and the engaged consultant may be required to travel to any part of India for NIOS work. Applications must be submitted online through www.nios.ac.in, accompanied by an application fee of Rs. 50 plus Rs. 70 online transaction charges (waived for PwD candidates); the fee, once paid, is non-refundable. The online window closes 21 days from the date of the notification (05 September 2026), i.e. by 26 September 2026, after which the application link will be disabled. A signed printout of the completed application, along with copies of uploaded certificates, must reach NIOS by Speed Post or by hand within seven days of the online submission. Incomplete applications or those without supporting documents will be summarily rejected. NIOS reserves the right to fill or not fill the position without assigning any reason.
