The Office of the Superintending Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Hyderabad Circle, Telangana, has invited applications for engagement of one Legal Consultant on a contract basis to handle court matters for ASI Hyderabad Circle, Telangana, and ASI Amaravati Circle, Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised University/National Institute, be enrolled with a State Bar Council to practise as an advocate, be below 65 years of age as on the date of the advertisement, and possess at least 10 years' continuous experience handling court cases related to administrative matters before CAT, High Court, Supreme Court or labour-related matters before CGIT, along with proficiency in MS Word and other computer applications. Experience working in a Government/Autonomous organisation or PSU, and familiarity with matters under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958, and The Antiquities and Art Treasures Act, 1972, are desirable. The Consultant's duties include monitoring ASI's court cases, drafting writ petitions, parawise replies and counter affidavits, liaising with Government Counsel, and monitoring the LIMBS portal. The engagement carries a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 70,000 per month, is initially for one year (extendable annually up to a 5% increase based on performance appraisal), and does not confer any right to regular appointment in ASI. Consultants are entitled to 8 days of leave during the one-year engagement and must observe normal office hours, including attendance on holidays if required.
