House Rent Allowance is paid at prescribed rates if hostel accommodation is not provided, and medical benefits for self are allowed as per extant rules.

JRF posts (Post Codes 01-07, 33 positions) require a Master's degree/M.E./M.Tech in disciplines including Semiconductor Technology, RF & Microwave, Electronics & Communication, VLSI, Embedded Systems, Signal Processing and Geo-informatics/Remote Sensing and GIS, with a maximum age of 28 years as on 30 September 2026. RA posts (Post Codes 08-10, 8 positions) require a Ph.D. or equivalent research/teaching experience in fields such as Oceanic Sciences, Atmospheric Sciences and Earth System Sciences. PS-I posts (Post Codes 11-16, 7 positions) require a Ph.D. or M.E./M.Tech in disciplines including Geophysics, Ecology/Environmental Sciences, Remote Sensing & GIS and Water Resources Engineering. Maximum age for RA and PS-I posts is 35 years as on 30 September 2026, with relaxations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL and other categories as per Government of India rules.
