Nothing is invented here, so this question has no answer on record.
Explanation
Let upstream speed be $a$ km/hr and downstream speed be $b$ km/hr Statement I $=\frac{14}{a}+\frac{35}{b}=4$ Statement II $\frac{29}{a}+\frac{24}{b}=5$ Let, $\frac{1}{a}=m, \frac{1}{b}=n$ $$\Rightarrow 14 m+35 b=4$$ and $29 m+24 b=5$ Solving Equations (i) and (ii), we get $m=\frac{79}{679}$ and $n=\frac{46}{679}$ $\therefore a=\frac{1}{m}=\frac{679}{79}$ and $b=\frac{1}{n}=\frac{679}{46}$ Hence, data in both the statements I and II will give the answer. Hence, option (e) is correct.
