CDSCO is India's national drug regulatory authority under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, responsible for approving new drugs, clinical trials, drug standards and quality of imported drugs. Its Drugs Inspector posts (Group B, Gazetted) are recruited by direct recruitment through UPSC against CDSCO's own notified Recruitment Rules; the 2025 rules sanctioned 419 such posts. Notices are published on the CDSCO website and the UPSC portal.

CDSCO recruits mainly through a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group B.
