The Directorate of Forensic Science Services (DFSS), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is the apex central body coordinating forensic science support to the criminal justice system, overseeing a network of Central Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs) located across several regional hubs that provide chemical, biological, ballistics, cyber and document-examination analysis to investigating agencies. Recruitment to scientist and technical-officer posts is notified centrally by DFSS and also separately by individual CFSLs as vacancies arise; this entry represents DFSS and its CFSL network collectively, distinct from the state-run Forensic Science Laboratories (FSLs) listed individually elsewhere in this sub-category.
