02How it recruits

The Council of Indian Institutes of Technology is the apex statutory body that lays down policy on cadres, recruitment methods and conditions of service common to all 23 IITs, and its website (iitsystem.ac.in) aggregates links to each individual IIT's current faculty openings. Actual faculty recruitment (rolling, PhD-qualified Assistant Professor and above) and all non-teaching recruitment is conducted separately by each individual IIT on its own institute website — this entry represents the system as a whole rather than a single recruiting office.
