The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Kargil (LAHDC Kargil), an Autonomous District Council formed in 2003, administers Kargil district. Non-gazetted and Class IV district-cadre posts are recruited through the LAHDC-Kargil Sub-Ordinate Service Recruitment Board, open to domicile holders of Kargil district.
