MoSPI, through its National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), conducts India's large-scale household and enterprise surveys (employment, consumption, health) that feed national statistics. Junior Statistical Officer posts are recruited centrally via SSC's Combined Graduate Level examination; field-level survey staff (Field Investigator, Senior Field Officer) are recruited directly or contractually by MoSPI/NSSO, with vacancy notices published on its own website.
