State Bank of India is the country's largest public sector bank, recruiting through its own annual Probationary Officer and Junior Associate (Clerk) drives, plus periodic Specialist Cadre Officer and apprentice recruitment. SBI PO and Clerk exams are conducted directly by the bank (not via IBPS) in a Prelims-Mains format followed by interview or group exercise for officer posts. It also recruits Specialist Officers in IT, law, risk management, chartered accountancy and other fields as vacancies arise.
