Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed Miniratna Schedule 'A' Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has invited online applications from Indian citizens for one post of Nurse (Male) on a contract basis at its Kochi facility. Applicants need a three-year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery with a valid registration as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, plus at least one year of experience as a nurse in a hospital, nursing home, primary health centre, first aid centre, occupational health centre, industrial healthcare facility or similar establishment. The role covers occupational healthcare, first aid, routine nursing care, emergency response, patient assessment, administration of prescribed medicines, maintenance of medical records and assistance to the Medical Officer, including general and rotational shift duties. The upper age limit is 40 years as on 3 October 2026, with relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and Ex-servicemen as per Government of India norms, capped at 50 years overall. Selection is through an Objective Type Test (30 multiple-choice questions, no negative marking) followed by a Practical Test, both conducted at CSL, Kochi; candidates must score at least 50 percent (40 percent for PwBD candidates) in each test to qualify. The engagement is for three years, extendable by up to two further years depending on performance and organisational need, and carries a consolidated monthly pay of Rs 23,300 rising to Rs 24,800 over the contract period, plus separate compensation for extra hours worked.
