There is no online or postal application. The Microwave Tube Research & Development Centre (MTRDC), Bengaluru, a laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence, has invited eligible Indian Nationals for a walk-in interview for engagement as Junior Research Fellow (JRF). MTRDC works on the design and development of Microwave Tubes and Microwave Power Modules for Radar, Electronic Warfare and Communication Systems, and the fellowship is intended for candidates wishing to pursue research in vacuum electronic devices spanning material science, ultrahigh vacuum, physical electronics, microwave engineering, electromagnetics, particle-in-cell methods and computer-aided design/simulation. Three posts are tentatively notified, though the number of vacancies may change as per organisational requirements. Eligible candidates must hold a Graduate Degree in a professional course (B.E./B.Tech) in Electronics/EI/ECE/ET/EEE Engineering in the first division with a valid NET or GATE qualification, OR a Post Graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Electronics with First Division and NET qualification, OR a Post Graduate degree in a professional course (M.E./M.Tech) in Electronics, Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering in the first division at both graduate and postgraduate level. The fellowship is for a duration of 2 years, extendable by a further maximum of 2 years, and carries a stipend of Rs. 37,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance as per rules. The upper age limit is 28 years for JRF, with age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/PH candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates; no TA is payable for attending the interview.
