Let the number of recognized voters in the village be $x$. A won election by votes = 600 B got 40\% more votes For candidate B $$\begin{aligned} & \because 40 \%=300 \\ & \therefore 100 \%=\frac{300}{40} \times 100=750 \end{aligned}$$ Votes got by $\mathrm{B}=750$ $$\text { ∴ Votes got by } \mathrm{A}=750+600=1350$$ According to the question, Number of votes cost in election 60\% of $$\begin{aligned} & x=1350+750=2100 \\ & \Rightarrow \frac{60 x}{100}=2100 \\ & \Rightarrow x=\frac{2100 \times 100}{60}=3500 \end{aligned}$$
