The State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) conducts the common Assam Direct Recruitment examinations for Class III (Group C) and Class IV (Group D) analogous posts across Government of Assam departments, under the Assam Direct Recruitment for Class-III and Class-IV Analogous Posts Rules, 2022. It is based at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Khanapara, Guwahati, and is distinct from APSC, which handles Group A/B gazetted posts, and from the State Level Police Recruitment Board, which handles police recruitment separately.

SLRC recruits mainly through a written competitive examination. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group C/D.
