02How it recruits
In plain words
The Central Government Health Scheme, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, runs Wellness Centres providing healthcare to central government employees and pensioners across major cities. Its Medical Officers are recruited through UPSC's Combined Medical Services Examination rather than a CGHS-specific exam, while pharmacist, nursing and other non-medical posts are filled through an Integrated Recruitment System coordinated with the Staff Selection Commission. Vacancy notices are published on the CGHS website.
CGHS recruits mainly through a written competitive examination, or a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group B/C.
