02How it recruits

Coal India Limited is the world's largest coal-mining company, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Coal, operating through eight subsidiaries (BCCL, CCL, ECL, MCL, NCL, SECL, WCL, CMPDI). Management Trainees are recruited mainly through GATE score followed by interview, while mining-cadre and non-executive posts are recruited subsidiary-wise through their own written examinations and physical/skill tests.

CIL recruits mainly through a candidate's score in a national test such as GATE or NET, or a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group A/C/apprentice.
