The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), functioning under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is India's nodal agency regulating the safety of explosives, compressed gas and petroleum, tracing its origins to 1898. It recruits Explosives/Petroleum Inspectors and technical staff at stations across the country, notified on its own website.
