02How it recruits

The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), run by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, aims to provide one crore internships over five years in India's top 500 companies for youth aged 18-25, paying a monthly stipend of Rs.5,000 (part government DBT, part company CSR) plus a one-time grant, with government-paid insurance cover. Applications are made on a rolling basis through the official PMIS portal.

PMIS recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group apprentice.
