DAE is the Government of India department, functioning directly under the Prime Minister, that oversees the country's nuclear power programme and atomic research. It does not itself run one common recruitment exam; recruitment is carried out separately by each of its constituent units - BARC, IGCAR, RRCAT, VECC, AMD, HWB, NFC and BRIT among others - each publishing its own notifications. The DAE website itself hosts recruitment rules and links to each unit's own recruitment pages, and cautions applicants to check only official DAE-unit websites and beware of fake recruitment content.

DAE recruits mainly through a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group A/B/C.
