02How it recruits

The Directorate General of GST Intelligence is the apex intelligence agency under CBIC responsible for detecting evasion of GST, Customs duty and Central Excise across India. The great majority of its officers are drawn on posting from CBIC's own cadre, but individual zonal units (for example the Jaipur Zonal Unit) occasionally advertise direct recruitment for Intelligence Officer posts on their own pages under dggi.gov.in.

DGGI recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam, or a direct interview, without a separate written exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group B/contractual.
