02How it recruits

In plain words

The Directorate General of Training (DGT), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, is the apex body for vocational training (ITIs) in India, having absorbed the erstwhile National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)'s functions. It runs the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) to train ITI instructors at National Skill Training Institutes, and separately recruits its own NSTI/headquarters staff; actual state ITI-instructor recruitment is conducted by individual state skill-development departments.

DGT recruits mainly through a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group B/C.
