02How it recruits

In plain words

MGNREGA, administered by the Ministry of Rural Development, guarantees 100 days of wage employment per year to rural households and is implemented through Gram Panchayats. Village/block-level contractual posts such as Gram Rojgar Sevak, Technical Assistant and Computer Assistant are recruited separately by each district's Rural Development department, notified on district and state MGNREGA portals rather than a single national one; nrega.nic.in is the central scheme website.

MGNREGA recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam, or a direct interview, without a separate written exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group contractual.
