02How it recruits

Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U), run by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, works towards scientific solid-waste management, sanitation and elimination of manual scavenging in Indian cities, now in its SBM-U 2.0 phase. Programme Management Unit staff and consultants are recruited by state Urban Development departments, often by walk-in interview, for city-level schemes such as NAMASTE.

SBM-U recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam, or a direct interview, without a separate written exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group contractual.
