(b)₹ 600, ₹ 525, ₹ 275
(c)₹ 600, ₹ 500, ₹ 300
(d)₹ 500, ₹ 525, ₹ 375
Answer
Answer (as printed): B
Explanation
Boy's 1 day's work $=\frac{1}{3}\left[1-\left(\frac{1}{7}+\frac{1}{8}\right)\right]=\frac{1}{3} \times \frac{11}{56}=\frac{11}{168}$. $\therefore$ Ratio of wages of the first man, second man and boy $=\frac{1}{7}:\frac{1}{8}:\frac{11}{168}=24:21:11$. First man's share $=₹\left(\frac{24}{56} \times 1400\right)=₹600$; Second man's share $=₹\left(\frac{21}{56} \times 1400\right)=₹525$; Boy's share $=₹[1400-(600+525)]=₹275$.
