Explanation
Let the speed of each train be $x \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{sec}$. Then, relative speed of the two trains $=2 x \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{sec}$. $$\text { So, } 2 x=\frac{(120+120)}{12} \Leftrightarrow 2 x=20 \Leftrightarrow x=10 \text {. }$$ ∴ Speed of each train $=10 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{sec}$ $$=\left(10 \times \frac{18}{5}\right) \mathrm{km} / \mathrm{hr}=36 \mathrm{km} / \mathrm{hr} .$$
