Subject: General Aptitude · Chapter: Volume and Surface Area · Exam: · Marks: · Difficulty:
The volume of a right circular cylinder whose curved surface area is $2640 \mathrm{cm}^{2}$ and circumference of its base is 66 cm, is
(a)$3465 \mathrm{cm}^{3}$
(b)$7720 \mathrm{cm}^{3}$
(c)$13860 \mathrm{cm}^{3}$
(d)$55440 \mathrm{cm}^{3}$
Answer
Explanation
$2 \pi r=66 \Rightarrow r=\left(66 \times \frac{1}{2} \times \frac{7}{22}\right)=\frac{21}{2} \mathrm{cm}$. $$\begin{aligned} & \frac{2 \pi r h}{2 \pi r}=\left(\frac{2640}{66}\right) \Rightarrow h=40 \mathrm{cm} . \\ & \therefore \text { Volume }=\left(\frac{22}{7} \times \frac{21}{2} \times \frac{21}{2} \times 40\right) \mathrm{cm}^{3}=13860 \mathrm{cm}^{3} . \end{aligned}$$
