02How it recruits
The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission conducts the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) for SDM, DSP and other Group A and B posts under the Government of Uttarakhand, in Prelims-Mains-Interview stages, and separately holds direct-recruitment examinations for Lecturer, Assistant Engineer and other departmental posts. UKPSC is headquartered at Gurukul Kangri, Haridwar, distinct from the state capital Dehradun. The subordinate-services board UKSSSC handles the state's non-gazetted recruitment.
UKPSC recruits mainly through a written competitive examination, or a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group A/B.
