MSBSHSE HSC vocational time table: your next steps
The Maharashtra state board has published a new notice. This post tells you what it says and what to do next.
It also shows how a home tutor can help a family plan around it, without adding anything the notice does not say.
What the notice says
Let us keep to what is confirmed. Our check on 2026-11-07 found the board's latest notice. It is a time table for the HSC examination to be held in February-March 2027. It is meant for Vocational Courses of Std. 12th.
That is all the notice summary confirms. It is a time table, for one group of students, for one examination period. This post does not list papers or days. The time table is a document published by the board, and you should read it there. A list copied into a messaging group can contain mistakes, and a wrong date can cost a student a paper.
The notice is published as a PDF (a fixed document file) on the board's website. Open the original file. Do not depend on a photo of it.
Does this notice apply to your child?
Settle this first. Many families in Dwarka and Gurugram know relatives whose children study under the Maharashtra board. Notices get forwarded without anyone checking who they are meant for.
Use the table to sort out your own case.
| Your situation | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Student is in Std. 12th, Vocational Courses, Maharashtra board | This time table is meant for your child. | Read it on the board's official website. Save a copy. |
| Student is in Std. 12th of the same board, but in another course | The notice names Vocational Courses. Do not assume it covers other courses. | Look for the notice meant for your child's own course on the same website. |
| Student studies under another board | This notice is not for you. | Follow only your own board's website. |
| You are helping a relative | You are passing on information, not deciding for them. | Send them the board's website, not a screenshot of dates. |
What a student and parent should do now
The examination is in February-March 2027, and the notice is out now. That gap gives the family time to plan calmly. Follow this order.
- Open the official time table. Use the board's own website. Download the PDF attached to the notification.
- Read it line by line. Check the subject names, the days and the timings against each paper. If something is unclear, ask the school or college where the student is enrolled.
- Copy the dates on a wall calendar. Put it where the student sees it daily. Write each paper on its day. Mark the gaps between papers in a different colour.
- Treat a gap day as a revision day. A free day between two papers is not a holiday. It is the last revision slot for the next paper.
- Keep the school's instructions separate. Practical examinations, internal assessments and admit cards are usually handled through the institution. Ask the school what applies to your child. Do not guess.
How to turn a time table into a study plan
A time table tells you when each paper happens. It does not tell you how ready the student is. That part is your job, and it is easier when done early.
Here is a method a teacher would use.
- List every paper. Write each subject name in the first column of a sheet.
- Rate each subject honestly. Use the words strong, average and weak. Let the student do this first. Then compare with marks from recent school tests.
- Give weak subjects the earliest and longest slots. Do not keep them for the last week. Weak topics need repeated practice, not one long night.
- Start from the first paper. Whatever paper comes first must be ready first. Build the plan from that paper and move forward.
- Add a weekly review. Once a week, the student solves a few questions from old topics. This stops earlier chapters from fading.
Keep the plan simple. A plan the student can follow on a tired day is better than a perfect plan that is dropped after a week.
Worked example: planning backwards from the papers
Example (illustrative, not from the notice). Suppose a student sees that one subject falls early in the time table and another falls late. The student feels weak in the late subject.
A common mistake is to leave the late subject for later because it feels far away. Then the early papers finish, nerves are high, and the weak subject gets only a few days.
A better way is to split each study day into two parts. The first part goes to the early paper, because it arrives first. The second part goes to the weak, late subject, in small steps. Each week the student closes a few topics in the weak subject. By the time the early papers are over, the late subject is already partly revised.
The principle is: fix the nearest paper first, but never leave the weakest subject untouched.
How a home tutor can help around this notice
A home tutor does not replace the school or the board's syllabus. The tutor helps the student use time well. For families in Dwarka and Gurugram, one-to-one tuition at home also saves travel time, and that time can go to study.
Once the time table is in your hands, a tutor can sensibly do the following:
- Sit with the student and the time table and build the revision calendar described above.
- Find weak topics by asking questions and checking written answers, not by guessing.
- Give timed practice, so the student gets used to writing within the time allowed.
- Check answer writing. Many marks are lost through half-written steps, wrong units or unclear diagrams, not lack of knowledge.
- Tell the parent plainly, week by week, where the student stands.
A tutor cannot promise marks, and you should be careful with anyone who does. Good tutoring improves preparation. The result still depends on the student's own work.
On our Great Home Tutors page, you tell us the class, subject, board and your locality. A person from Great Home Tutors then calls you back to understand the student. We tell you plainly whether a tutor is verified by us or not yet. A first class lets you see the fit before anything is fixed. This is home tuition only, with no coaching centre and no group batch.
Mistakes to avoid
- Relying on forwarded dates. Always cross-check with the board's website.
- Waiting for the syllabus to finish before planning. Plan now and adjust later.
- Studying only the favourite subject. It feels productive but leaves gaps.
- Ignoring rest. A tired student remembers less. Keep fixed sleep and meal times.
- Comparing with other children. Each student starts from a different point. Compare the student with their own last month.
Key takeaways
- The board's latest notice is the HSC time table for Vocational Courses of Std. 12th, for February-March 2027.
- First confirm that the notice applies to your child's course and board.
- Read the time table on the board's official website. Do not trust forwarded images.
- Plan backwards: nearest paper first, weakest subject started early.
- A home tutor can help with planning, practice and feedback, but cannot guarantee results.
