When they meet, it is found that one train has travelled 60 km more than the other. The distance between two stations is

Explanation
At the time of meeting, let the distance travelled by the first train be $x \mathrm{km}$. Then, distance travelled by the second train is $(x+60)$ km . $$\begin{aligned} & \therefore \frac{x}{16}=\frac{x+60}{21} \Rightarrow 21 x=16 x+960 \\ & \Rightarrow 5 x=960 \Rightarrow x=192 . \end{aligned}$$ Hence, distance between two stations $=(192+192+60)$ $\mathrm{km}=444 \mathrm{km}$.
