02How it recruits
The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, formed in 1971, conducts the Himachal Administrative Service (HAS) Combined Competitive Examination for Group A and B state posts, in Prelims-Mains-Interview stages, and separately recruits for Civil Judge, Panchayat Inspector, Election Kanungo, Block Development Officer and similar departmental posts through direct-recruitment examinations. HPPSC is headquartered at Nigam Vihar, Shimla.
HPPSC recruits mainly through a written competitive examination, or a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group A/B.
