Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan conducts the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET), the state qualifying exam across four categories covering lower-primary, upper-primary, secondary and language/specialist teaching posts. K-TET is an eligibility test; actual recruitment for government school teacher posts is separately done through the Kerala Public Service Commission.

KTET recruits mainly through a written competitive examination. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group C.
