02How it recruits

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is India’s nodal drug law enforcement and coordination agency responsible for enforcing the NDPS Act 1985 and coordinating anti-narcotics action among central and state agencies. Its staff strength is drawn substantially through deputation from central and state police forces, IRS and other cadres; the Bureau periodically notifies specific posts such as Public Prosecutor and Section Officer directly on its own website, generally filled by application scrutiny and interview rather than a competitive written exam.
