The National Investigation Agency (NIA), established under the NIA Act 2008, is India’s central counter-terrorism law enforcement agency, empowered to investigate and prosecute offences affecting the sovereignty, security and integrity of India across state lines, headquartered at CGO Complex, New Delhi. Its executive and investigative ranks are substantially staffed through deputation from state police and central armed police forces; the agency also periodically notifies limited direct recruitment for ministerial and support posts (Data Entry Operator, Lower Division Clerk and similar) on its own Recruitment page.

NIA recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam, or a direct interview, without a separate written exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group B/C.
