The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), established in 2006 under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is India’s specialised force for responding to natural and man-made disasters, currently comprising 16 battalions. Its personnel are drawn on deputation from the six Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles, all separately listed in this directory under Defence and Paramilitary → CAPF), so NDRF itself is not a primary direct-entry recruiter; it periodically notifies its own limited support and technical staff vacancies on ndrf.gov.in.

NDRF recruits mainly through direct recruitment, without a competitive exam. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group C.
