02How it recruits
The Odisha Public Service Commission conducts the Odisha Civil Service (OCS) Examination for Odisha Administrative Service, Deputy Superintendent of Police and other Group A and B state posts, through Prelims, Mains and Interview stages, and separately holds direct-recruitment examinations for Assistant Engineer, Medical Officer and other departmental posts as requisitioned. OPSC is headquartered in Cuttack rather than the state capital Bhubaneswar; recruitment applications are processed via its e-Chayan portal.
OPSC recruits mainly through a written competitive examination, or a written examination followed by an interview. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group A/B.
