The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) conducts the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) on behalf of SCERT Punjab, the qualifying exam for Classes I-V and VI-VIII teaching posts in Punjab government schools. Actual recruitment against notified vacancies is carried out separately by the Punjab education department/PSSSB.

PSTET recruits mainly through a written competitive examination. Posts recorded here are commonly classified as Group C.
